Beneath a summer sky overlooking the rolling hills of the La Costa Resort golf course, I was honored to photograph Dusti and Mike’s uniquely memorable wedding ceremony. After exchanging their tearful vows, the simple round box in Dusti and Mike’s hands held everyone’s gaze. Curiously, there was no mention of the container in the ceremony program. Removing the jeweled top, Dusti reached in and with a gently pull of the white ribbon within, released dozens of Monarch butterflies fluttering into the warm air. Starting life anew could not have been communicated more symbolically.
The party that followed wasted no time getting started. Mere seconds after Dusti and Mikes grand entrance, the reception shifted into high gear – Arabic style! The pulsating, hypnotic Arab dance music fueled an already energized crowd as they surrounded Dusti and Mike, dancing and singing as if to let them know that today was indeed a day to celebrate life.
