Having grown up in a Navy family, I enjoyed the familiar culture present at Kathy and Tim’s wedding day. Donned in Navy dress whites, Tim was a dashing compliment to Kathy’s simply elegant beauty. And how fitting that a military sword arch awaited them as they exited the church as man and wife. Kathy of course received the traditional WHACK! of the blade after clearing the last pair of crossed swords. I don’t think they broke skin, but maybe a little bruise?
I’ve come to know Kathy and Tim as a quiet, reserved couple, although that’s now up for debate after witnessing them rock out at their reception at the grand Hyatt Aventine. The formal toasts and dinner later gave way to a lively dance party with DJ Tim Altbaum keeping the evening upbeat. I learned not to pre-judge anyone in uniform; them Navy boys can get down!
