Dang this rain. For me who rides just about daily, three consecutive days without rolling on the throttle is enough to get me a little fidgety. Riding is my therapy. A connection to my primal self, my daily feed of pure exhileration. Keying the ignition and sparking that rumbling thunder is enough to release any bad karma into the wind. Often in the grinding commuter traffic of Interstate 8, behind the helmet and sunglasses, I catch myself grinning ear to ear. If you ride, you totally get it.
For those of you who don’t, however, I’ll bet there’s a hidden Easy Rider inside you that’s dying to bust out …
This Friday is yet another Kettner Nights from 6-9pm, the recurring open house event in Little Italy where several artist studios, galleries, and creative retailers welcome the general public into their spaces. My studio will be open as well flowing with cheap wine and beer. And just for kicks, I decided to haul my bike up to the studio for FREE Biker Portraits! Nothing formal, just plain ‘ol cheezy fun. Dust off your leathers, don your I’m-just-too-cool shades and bring your bad-assness to my studio. Leave the knives and brass knuckles at home, though, because kids are always welcome.
As always, Kettner Nights is a great way to kick-off the weekend, catch up with friends, and peruse the works of several talented artists. I look forward to seeing you this Friday, even if you decide not to wear your chaps.
