Welcome to my new blog everyone! For quite a while I’ve hungered for a more professional, more flexible layout that would allow the posting of larger, better quality images. After all, I’m a working photographer and awesome imagery is the norm, the expectation. But whoa there faithful blog readers, sometimes we can bring the bar down a bit. Oh the pressure. Just like you, I whip out a point-and-shoot every so often and grab a quickie snapshot, and I could care less whether or not it’s a perfect image. This is a blog. Shoot and share. Spread the love …
You may have noted New Direction in this post title. I’ll still maintain my focus on wedding and assignment work, but 2009 is the year I finally add custom portraiture into the mix. Up to now I’ve been going about it very casually with no set structure, albeit with professional quality results. The portfolio I’ve built from these sessions is just exquisite. I have a particular passion for creating communicative portraits and look forward to promoting this segment of my business. Stay tuned …
And finally, below are a few pics of the studio transition last weekend. There’s still more work to be done, but you get the idea. The old studio will be missed, but the additional 300 square feet I’ve gained is a huge plus. A very heartfelt thanks to my always supportive wife Nance, my super Dad, and my good bud Brian for all the help. And there were heaps of it.
