I love working as a photographer. I’ve likely made that statement umpteen times in my life, but really, I do love my craft. That said though, I adore my family life even more. Life in our little pocket of suburbia has been and continues to be a cherished thing, our daily routine familiar and comfortable. Hop on a plane and go somewhere? Nah, too much trouble these days. We’ve been fortunate to have spent much of our early days as a family enjoying the benefits of international travel (Nance is a UAL flight attendant). I recall often ripping through the terminals of LAX, SFO and ORD with baby Sophie on our back or riding atop the luggage cart, enroute to France, or Japan, or Cozumel, or …
Some months ago over dinner, Nance proposed an idea for my upcoming birthday. What about visiting Bing and Joe? Bing is a dear cousin of mine living in Cairo, Egypt with her family. The opportunity to hook-up in such a remote part of the world, well, we just couldn’t let it pass. So, after scrambling to carve out two precious weeks of free time, the grand adventure is only hours away. Four hours to be exact, so I need to wrap-up this post and jump into bed. We’ll see the pyramids with our daughter! We’ll scuba dive in the Red Sea! Pet a camel! Life is good.
I hope to squeeze-in some blog time over the next couple weeks, but if I don’t post anything, assume that a camel bit me as I attempted to pet it.
