Having traveled a bit in my years, I’ve always been impressed by the tremendous array of local talent that exists in just about every city. Yesterday we attended the annual Temecula Live! show in support of our nephew Daniel, but were blown away by the vocal talent of each and every performer. Ahhh, but we were of course partial to a particular young man. Easily joining the ranks of emerging local talent, Daniel’s vocals and guitar playing skills have grown tremendously in just a few years. We all watched with heartwarming joy as he took to the stage with a moving rendition of Rascal Flatt’s Won’t Let Go.

Daniel, you nailed it. Remember, we get free tickets to your first solo concert. And front row seats, but I’m sure you already knew that : )

Kettner Nights this Friday

I’m sure a bunch of you are still slowly gearing-up following all the holiday madness, one hand shielding our eyes as we squint to see what’s ahead for 2012. Or even better yet, drafting a game plan to impact change in our lives. Lots to think about, hopefully all good.

But oh, the pressure of change! So, as a brief respite from your life-altering agenda, consider coming downtown for another Kettner Nights. This is the periodic open house event (the second Friday of every other month) in Little Italy Art and Design District where several artists, galleries, and creative retailers open their doors to the public from 6-9pm. My studio will be open as well and ,as always, I look forward to seeing my friends, old and new. Let’s catch-up, share our plans for the year, and talk about how much weight we gained over the holiday break. Or not.

Cousins Forever

From Christmas Eve to today, Sophie and favorite cousin Chloe have spent nearly every hour together, trading overnights at each others home, lazily winding down the year. And as the days click by, we’ve smiled often just watching them being their lovable, goofball selves. Stay friends for life, girls. Family matters.
